How Can We Serve You?

Take a look below to see what our Kids Ministry learned this Sunday!

LESSON 12 | God Helps Us Make Good Choices when We are Afraid

Bible Basis: 1 Kings 3:5– 10:13; 16:29– 17:16; 18:1–46

Bible Verse: Psalm 46:1: “God is our place of safety . . . He is always there to help us in times of trouble.”

Bible Point: God helped his people when they were afraid. He can help me make good choices when I am afraid too.

Resource: The Beginner Bible

“The Wise King” (pages 194 – 200)

“God Watches Over Elijah” (pages 201 – 205)

“Elijah Helps a Widow” (pages 206 – 208)

“Fire From Heaven” (pages 209 – 215)

TABLE TALK: Use the Table Talk questions below to start a discussion around the Table at dinner.

Where did Solomon’s wisdom come from? (God.)

Do you think God could give you wisdom if you asked for it?

Can you remember a time when you were afraid? What did you do?

Think about what Elijah did when he was afraid. What are some things that you can do when you are afraid? (Pray to God, trust in God, ask God for help, ask God what to do.)

Week 3: Road Trip – Patience

Main Verse: Proverbs 14:29

Life Application: PATIENCE – Waiting until later for what you want now

Today’s Topic: When you think you can’t wait, keep your cool.

Ask: What do you do when it’s hard to wait?

Drive Time: Plan a fun night as a family for the end of the month and tell them they can invite a friend. When you are in the car, talk through the details of what you want to do. Challenge them to only talk about it while in the car and if they can be patient and wait well, the more fun you will plan for them. Remind them that this is an example of something that is worth the wait!

Remember this:“Wait for the Lord. Be strong and don’t lose hope. Wait for the Lord!” Psalm 27:14, NIrV

We at EGC Kids anticipate each and every Sunday the joy of working with your children and showing them the love of Christ. We hope we can support you in prayers during the week. Please let any of us know how we can better serve you and your children.

Much Love,

Pastor Donne and the EGC Kids Family
