LESSON 5 | God Wants us to Help Others

Bible Basis: Genesis 37; 39 – 46

Bible Verse: Philippians 2:4: “None of you should look out just for your own good. You should also look out for the good of others.”

Bible Point: God showed Joseph how to help others. God will show me how to help others too.

TABLE TALK: Use the Table Talk questions below to start a discussion around the Table at dinner.

Joseph’s brothers were upset with him.

Have you ever been upset with your brother or sister?

What did you do about it? 

Lots of people were having dreams in these stories! Do you remember any dreams you’ve had? 

How did Joseph help others?

(He gathered crops to store for the future. He gave food to his family. He sold food to people who needed it. He managed the food supply for the ruler of Egypt. He invited his family to move to Egypt.)

Week 1: Rewind- Kindness

Main Verse: TITUS 3:4-7- Kindness Principle

Life Application: KINDNESS – Showing others they are valuable by how you treat them

Todays Topic:. Be kind to others because God is kind to you.

Ask: What does kindness look like?

Morning Time: Send a text or write a note to your preteen reminding them of this: “Showing kindness to others isn’t about getting the credit. It just means you are doing your part to love others well. Keep up the good work!”

Remember this: “Do to others as you want them to do to you.” Luke 6:31, NIrV
