LESSON 25 | Jesus Gives Life
Bible Basis: Luke 10:38 – 42; John 11:1 – 44; 12:3 – 8
Bible Verse: John 11:25: “Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even if he dies.’ ”
Bible Point: Jesus brought Lazarus back to life. If I believe in Jesus, he will give me eternal life in heaven!
Resource: The Beginner’s Bible
“Mary and Martha”(pages385–390)
“Lazarus Lives Again”(pages418–422)
“A Gift for Jesus” (pages 423 – 426)
TABLE TALK: Use the Table Talk questions below to start a discussion around the Table at dinner.
Do you think you are a good listener, like Mary?
Why didn’t Jesus tell Mary to go and help her sister? (It was more important for her to listen to him at that moment.)
How was Lazarus like Jesus? (He rose from the dead, like Jesus.)
How was Lazarus different from Jesus? (Lazarus needed Jesus’ help to rise from the dead, but Jesus rose from the dead on his own, because he is the Son of God.)
Why did Mary pour perfume on Jesus’ feet? (She wanted to show her love.)

Week 2: ReFocus- Gratitude
Main Verse: Matthew 20:1-15 A Parable of the Vineyard Workers
Life Application: GRATITUDE – Letting others know you see how they’ve helped you
Todays Topic: Adjust your attitude.
Ask: What do you do when you don’t feel grateful?
Drive Time: Pick a time in the car to ask the following question to your preteen, “Do you think we have been given a lot or a little? Why?” Don’t get frustrated if they are quick to point out what they don’t have—instead, start naming things you are thankful for. Showing gratitude can help spread gratitude!
Remember this: “Give thanks no matter what happens. God wants you to thank him because you believe in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18, NIrV
