From Pastor Donne’s Desk

Take a look below to see what our Kids Ministry is teaching this week!

preschool BibleIn the Lima Campus 34’s and 5K’s classroom and the Henrietta Campus Preschool classroom: Stories! Joseph (part 2)

Talk About It: We heard the story of Joseph and how God has a special plan for me!

Bible Connection: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

Challenge for Families: Get out colors, paper, glue, scissors and any other crafty thing you both enjoy. Sit down an draw with your child ask them ‘What do you think God’s big plan is for you?’ Listen and encourage them this week to listen for God’s voice for what his Plan is for them. Ask them to draw, glitter, etc. what they think that plan looks like. Encourage them to dream big and listen to God’s voice, because God has bigger dreams and plans for them than they can imagine. Pray with them this week to know God’s special plan for them.

Love-the-Lord-your-God-with-all-your-heart-and-with-all-your-soul-and-with-all-your-mindIn the Grade School classrooms: There’s a Verse for That: Pride!- Pride wants to tell us that we are better than others and deserve whatever we want. But God is our Creator and our Savior, and if we are to be his followers, he must become greater while we become less. Because then we can better understand God’s love and purpose for us.

Main Point:  Kids will learn to keep pride in check and remember where their blessings come from. We can keep our pride in check by remembering that all good things come from God.

Memory verse: Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. Matthew 22:37-38
