Take a look below to see what our Kids Ministry is teaching this week!
Talk About It: God wants us to share with others even when there’s not much to go around.
Bible Connection: Share with him some of the bounty with which the Lord your God has blessed you. Deuteronomy 15:14 NLT
Challenge for families: Pray with your child about giving to others. Ask God to bless those that are in need. Discuss with your child going through their toys and clothes and set aside the ones they no longer use or wear. Take the things that they no longer use to a local mission or find a friend that has a need. Let your child know that they are doing what God wanted them to do by sharing with others. Remind them how much they liked playing with that toy and how another child will be able to have fun with it as well.
Talk About It: Zacchaeus became a kind friend after he decided to follow Jesus. As we follow Jesus, we can begin to treat others with kindness too.
Bible Connection: “I follow the example of Christ.” 1 Corinthians 11:1 NIV
Challenge for Families: Ask God to always help you and your child to have a forgiving heart. Many opportunities will arise where your child will have to apologize and ask for forgiveness, and your child will need to forgive someone for doing wrong to them. Lead by example in this regard it is a valuable lesson to fully accept how God has forgiven us for our sins.
In the Grade School classrooms: There’s a Verse for That: Parent Problems!- Parents can drive you crazy, but God gave you parents to raise you to be wise and love the Lord. They deserve our respect, our attention, and our love.
Main Point: Kids will learn to honor Mom and Dad, even when it’s difficult because God wants us to love and honor our parents.
Memory verse: Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. Matthew 22:37-38
