From Pastor Donne’s Desk

Take a look below to see what our Kids Ministry is teaching this week!

Talk About It: God wants us to share with others so everyone will have enough.

Bible Connection: Share with him some of the bounty with which the Lord your God has blessed you. Deuteronomy 15:14 NLT

Challenge for families: Pray with your child about the importance of sharing with others. Ask God to create in your child the desire for sharing so that others have enough.
Ask your child to think of some way your family can practice the act of sharing. Remind your child, often, that God wants us to share with others so everyone will have enough.

the_ark-unit6_157x157In the Lima Campus 5K’s classroom and the Henrietta Campus Preschool classroom: I Will Follow Jesus- 12 Disciples

Talk About It: Jesus wants us to follow Him. He called twelve friends to follow Him when He was on earth. Now He’s calling you to follow Him, too!

Bible Connection: “I follow the example of Christ.” 1 Corinthians 11:1 NIV

Challenge for Families: Pretend to fish with a sheet or blanket. Place small toys in an open spot on your child’s floor and then toss the blanket over the toys as if you were fishing for them like they did in Bible time and today when fishermen use casting nets to fish. Stand on the bed or a chair with your child and have them toss the blanket. Pretend they caught a bunch of fish and act like you are struggling to get the blanket back in the “boat”. Tell your child that Jesus called some fishermen to stop fishing and to go with Him and they did. At nap time or bedtime, pray with your child and ask them to pray that they would always follow Jesus to wherever He is calling them to go.

Memory Verse-blog pic 1In the Grade School classrooms: There’s a Verse for That: That’s Your Bad!- God has forgiven us of our sins. God expects us to forgive others as he forgave us.

Main point: Kids will learn how to forgive when someone hurts them. God wants us to forgive others as he forgave us.

Memory verse: ‘Your word is a lamp for my feet, and a light on my path.’ -Psalms 119:105
