From Pastor Donne’s Desk

Take a look below to see what our Kids Ministry is teaching this week!

In the Lima Campus 34’s classroom: I Love To Share- A Little Boy Shares His Lunch

Jungle_Unit_6_art_157x157Talk About It: God has given us everything we have. He wants us to share with others.

Bible Connection: Share with him some of the bounty with which the Lord your God has blessed you. Deuteronomy 15:14 NLT

Challenge for families: Prepare a plate for each family member with 3 different yummy treats on it. Perhaps you will have a cookie, a piece of candy and a pretzel with cheese – just make sure that they are all 3 things that your family enjoys eating. Ask everyone to pick their favorite item off of their plate and hold it in the air. Now ask everyone to pass the treat they chose to the person on their right. Everyone should eat the treats they now have in front of them. Talk to your child about how everything we have is from God and it pleases God when we share what we have, even our favorite things, with others.
Pray with your child about having a sharing heart! God loves it when we share the things we enjoy with our family and friends.
Remind your child everything we have is a gift from God and it pleases Him when we share.

In the Lima Campus 5K’s classroom and the Henrietta Campus Preschool classroom: I Will Follow Jesus- Matthew

the_ark-unit6_157x157Talk About It: When Jesus called Matthew, he became a better person. As we follow Jesus’ example, He will change us, too!

Bible Connection: “I follow the example of Christ.” 1 Corinthians 11:1 NIV

Challenge for Families: The next time you are trying to get your preschooler to go somewhere – like to bed, or to the car, or into a store – play follow me and act silly. Chances are they will follow you. If they do, praise them for being a good follower. Jesus loves it when we follow. At your next meal, pray that God would help each of you to always follow Him, wherever He leads you.

In the Grade School classrooms: There’s a Verse for That: That’s My Bad!- When we make a mistake, God doesn’t want us to run and hide. He wants us to apologize and make things right. Jacob did the right thing when he admitted he was wrong and made amends with Esau. We can do the same!

Main point: Kids will learn to admit when they are wrong and make it right. When we wrong someone, we need to apologize and make it right.

Memory verse: ‘Your word is a lamp for my feet, and a light on my path.’ -Psalms 119:105
