From Pastor Donne’s Desk

Take a look below to see what our Kids Ministry is teaching this week!

Jungle_Unit_5_art_157x157In the Lima Campus 34’s classroom: Jesus can do anything! -A Woman Has Faith

Talk About It: I am thankful Jesus can do anything!

Bible Connection: “For nothing is impossible with God.’ Luke 1:37 NIV

Challenge for families:  We can have faith that Jesus can handle our problems. Jesus loves it when we believe in His power.
Nothing is impossible for God. You can teach your child this by planting some seeds in a small planter inside. Buy some seeds of your liking and some potting soil at your local hardware store. You can plant the seeds in a coffee cup, plastic cup or a pot. Have your child pour in the dirt, poke some seeds into the dirt and water them. Tell your child that the plant won’t show up today, but to have faith because it will show up in a few days. Then check it from time to time.
Each day, go over to the plant to check it and pray. Pray that Jesus will teach you both to have faith because nothing is impossible with Jesus.
Nearly everyday, you can see people that need Jesus to do something miraculous in their lives. Remind your child that Jesus can answer our prayers.

the_ark-unit5_157x157In the Lima Campus 5K’s classroom and the Henrietta Campus Preschool classroom: The Bible is true- Elisha

Talk About It: Talk about how The Bible is God’s word and God always tells the truth.

Bible Connection: ‘For the word of the Lord is right and true.’– Psalm 33:4 NIV

Challenge for Families: Watch a movie together that features things that couldn’t possibly happen. A good option is Horton Hears a Who because it addresses the topic of faith. Read about Elisha’s miracles from a Bible story book or pick them out from 2 Kings 2 through 2 Kings 13. The final one that occurred after his death is probably the most stunning (see 2 Kings 13:21). Express your own belief in the Bible to your child. Pray together that God will help you have faith in His Word together!

In the Grade School classrooms: There’s a verse for that: Choices

Main point: The children will learn to seek Gods wisdom when making life choices.

Memory verse: ‘Your word is a lamp for my feet, and a light on my path.’ -Psalm 119:105
