From Pastor Greg’s Desk

Take a look below to see what our Kids Ministry is teaching this week!

In the Lima Campus 34’s classroom: I Can Obey God—Rainbows and Promises

Talk About It: We can obey God by praising Him. God wants us to thank Him and praise Him for what He does for us.

Bible Connection: “Noah did everything the Lord commanded him to do.” Genesis 7:5

Challenge for families: The next time you see a rainbow, either in the sky after a storm or when the sun shines through a mist, talk to your child about God’s promises.

In the Lima Campus 5K’s classroom and the Henrietta Campus Preschool classroom: I Can Do What’s Right—Travels in the Desert

Talk About It: God’s people complained while they were in the desert. But we can do what’s right and be thankful.

Bible Connection: “…Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable… ” Philippians 4:8

Challenge for families: Rent one of the many Ten Commandments movies and watch it with your child. Talk to your child and tell them that the people Moses was leading started complaining and whining, and it displeased God.

In the Grade School classrooms: Jesus Is—Coming!

Main point: Jesus is coming back! We don’t know when. He will make everything right. We need to be ready.

Memory verses:

John 14:3 (NLT) – “When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.”

2 Peter 3:9 (NLT) – “The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.”

2 Corinthians 5:10 (NLT) – “For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body.”
