From Pastor Greg’s Desk

Take a look below to see what our Kids Ministry is teaching this week!

In the Lima Campus 34’s classroom: I Can Obey God—The Flood

Talk About It: God wants us to obey Him. When we obey Him, we will see God take good care of us.

Bible Connection: “Noah did everything the Lord commanded him to do.” Genesis 7:5

Challenge for families: Bathtub fun! At your child’s next bath time, before you fill up the tub, place a bottle of shampoo in the tub and then turn the water on. Take the time with your child to watch the bottle start to float, and talk to them about what it might have been like when the rain was falling and Noah’s boat started to float.

In the Lima Campus 5K’s classroom and the Henrietta Campus Preschool classroom: I Can Do What’s Right—Let My People Go!

Talk About It: Moses did what was right and had faith that God would free his people. We can do what’s right and have faith in God, too!

Bible Connection: “…Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable… ” Philippians 4:8

Challenge for families: Fly a kite! Take your child out to a park or the beach and fly a kite. Wind is a great example of faith. You can’t see the wind, but you can see the effects of the wind. Take some time to pray while you’re out in the breeze, and ask God to help each of you to have more and more faith in Him. Feel the wind on your skin as you pray and praise Him for being such a great God!

In the Grade School classrooms: Jesus Is—The Giver of the Holy Spirit

Main point: The Holy Spirit is God, one part of the Trinity. He is a critical part of our lives as Christians in many ways.

Memory verse: “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6b
