From Pastor Greg’s Desk

Take a look below to see what our Kids Ministry is teaching this week!

In the Lima Campus 34’s classroom: I Can Obey—Esther Obeys

Talk About It: God blesses obedience. Esther obeyed her foster parent Mordecai, and that put her right in the middle of God’s exciting plan.

Bible Connection: “You will be blessed if you obey the commands of the Lord your God…” Deuteronomy 11:27 NLT

Challenge for families: Pray for your child every day. Ask God to give you His eyes so that you can see your child through His grace and love. Ask for wisdom, and He will give it to you. Always be looking ahead to your child’s future, and ask God guide your plans for their lives.

In the Lima Campus 5K’s classroom and the Henrietta Campus Preschool classroom: Jesus Shows Me How to Live—The Runaway Son

Talk About It: Jesus told a story about a father who welcomed his runaway son. His story shows us that we should love and forgive others no matter what they’ve done.

Bible Connection: “Follow My teachings and learn from Me…” Matthew 11:29

Challenge for families: The next time your child gets into trouble, the kind of trouble that will require them to apologize to you or another person, get down on their level and look them in the eye and say, “I forgive because God forgives me.” Don’t do this all the time, but when you do this occasionally, it reinforces that no matter the sin, Jesus will always, always, always forgive us because of his love.

In the Grade School classrooms: God’s House—The Kitchen

This week’s main point: God wants us to help and serve others!

Memory verse: “If one of you wants to be great he must be servant of the rest.” Psalm 119:1
