Join us tomorrow for Move Up Sunday!
We want to do our best to cheer your child on as they navigate the new school year, that’s why we have Move Up Sunday! Move Up Sunday is our annual Sunday morning event where children who are entering first grade officially join our grade school classrooms! Moreover, it is a special Sunday where our grade school teachers help our kids get excited for the new and cool things God will do in their lives throughout the next year.
We’ll be celebrating Move Up Sunday on Sunday, August 30th in the Henrietta Campus and Lima Campus grade school rooms. For questions or more information, please contact Pastor Greg Falco at email@example.com.
Take a look below to see what our Kids Ministry is teaching this week!
In the Lima Campus 34’s classroom: I Love to Share—A Poor Woman Shares
Talk About It: God wants us to share with others even when there’s not much to go around.
Bible Connection: “Share with him some of the bounty with which the Lord your God has blessed you.” Deuteronomy 15:14
Challenge for families: Help your child go through their toys and clothes and set aside the ones they no longer use or wear. Take the things that they no longer use to a local mission or find a friend that has a need. Let your child know that they are doing what God wanted them to do by sharing with others.
In the Lima Campus 5K’s classroom and the Henrietta Campus Preschool classroom: I Will Follow Jesus—Zacchaeus
Talk About It: Zacchaeus became a kind friend after he decided to follow Jesus. As we follow Jesus, we begin to treat others with kindness too.
Bible Connection: “Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.” 1 Corinthians 11:1
Challenge for families: Many opportunities will arise where your child will have to apologize and ask for forgiveness, and your child will need to forgive someone for doing wrong to them. Lead by example in this regard. Sit down and play with your child. Role play a disagreement or fight between two toys and then teach your child how to ask for forgiveness. Jesus tells us to forgive one another.
Grade School Students will be enjoying special Move Up Sunday activities!
