Obedience, Boldness & Thankfulness

Look below to see what our Kids Ministry is teaching this week!

In the 34’s classroom: Daniel Obeys

Talk About It: We can know what God wants us to do by praying and talking to God. Then we can obey by doing whatever He wants us to do!

Bible Connection: “You will be blessed if you obey the commands of the Lord your God…” Deuteronomy 11:27

Challenge for families: Set up a prayer path for your child. Place 4 or 5 pictures of family and friends around a room. Take your child to each picture, and have your child pray for each person or thing. Talk to them about how Daniel prayed to God every day, and about how God protected Daniel from the lions. (This story is found in Daniel 6.)

In the 5K’s classroom: Peter and John

Talk About It: When we tell others about Jesus, God’s power will be with us.

Memory Verse: “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.” Mark 16:15

Challenge for families:  Sometimes you need to get outside of a comfort zone and do something just because you need to. This week’s activity is to call your local hospital and see if you and your child can go and say “hi” to the patients (it’s best if you can finda children’s hospital or a children’s wing). Take some little trinkets or puzzle books that you can pick up at a dollar store. You don’t have to stay long, just long enough to drop off the gift and say that you’ll be praying for them, the patients. The hospital should work with you on the appropriate patients to visit. They won’t allow you to see anyone in critical care, so it won’t be too traumatic on your child.

give thanksblogIn the Grade School classroom: a special lesson about giving thanks and being thankful.
