Have you ever wondered what you can do to help improve the relationships around you? This month’s series, Level Up, is a chance to look at different relationships in our lives to see what we can do to help “level up,” or be a support and encouragement to different people.
Last week we talked about how we can Level Up Our Parents. Ms. Emily shared with us that a few of the best ways we can support and encourage our parents is through gratitude and obedience.
This week we are going to take a look at how we can level up our friends by building them up through loving words, defending them through loyalty and contending for their needs through prayer.
Proverbs is very vocal about what it does and does not mean to be a good friend. Making statements such as, “A friend is always loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need.” “A troublemaker plants seeds of strife; gossip separates the best of friends.” “The godly give good advice to their friends.” “With their words, the godless destroy their friends.” (Prov. 11:9, 12:26, 16:28, 17:17)
Through our words, loyalty and prayer we can help Level Up Our Friends. What is one or two things you can do to Level Up your friends this week? Talk about what you are doing with your kids and what they can do to continue to learn to be a good friend.
