How much value do you put into the Word of God? This Sunday we are going to be looking at Express Truth #3, “God Speaks To Me Through His Word and by His Spirit.” In Kidz Express we talk a lot about how God can speak to us if we’re listening and ready to hear Him, so this week I want to take a closer look at how God speaks to us through His Word and how much we do or do not value the Bible. It can be so easy for us to take the Bible for granted because of how much access we have to it. I personally own at least 10 Bible plus I have dozens of versions on my phone. But with as available as it is to us in our culture, we need to make sure that we’re not treating it as common. John Bevere talks about how we dishonor not because we are disrespectful or say or do something negative, but we dishonor someone or something by treating it as common or ordinary, by not valuing it.
Here are some of the things that the Bible says about itself that we can use to remind us how much we have access to: It is active (Heb. 4:12), life (Deut. 32:46-47), enduring (Ps 119:91), flawless (Psalm 12:6), good (Ps 119:39), instructive (Ps 119:24), perfect (Ps 19:7), powerful (Jeremiah 23:29), trustworthy (2 Sam 7:28), and so much more.
So let me ask again, how much value do you put into the Word of God?
